Equine PreventiCare Program
The PreventiCare™ Program: Pfizer's revolutionary equine wellness
program, PreventiCare, has provided a special link between horse
owners and veterinarians since 1997.
The new site allows owners and clinics alike to manage the components
of PreventiCare for all of their horses simply and conveniently. Update a
horse’s profile and history, re-enroll a horse or enroll a new horse. Take
the time to look around the new site, and get to know the new
PreventiCare!
Colic Assistance Plan™: Horses that are in compliance
with all of PreventiCare’s requirements are eligible for
the Colic Assistance Plan (CAP). In a case of colic severe
enough to require surgery, Pfizer Animal Health will
reimburse the operating surgery clinic up to $5,000 in
costs associated with colic surgery and up to three days
of aftercare.
Program Requirements: PreventiCare requires that
enrolling veterinarians provide five basic healthcare
requirements for all enrolled horses. These include:
* Annual physical examination
* Annual dental examination and any needed care
* Appropriate immunizations
* Daily use of Strongid® C or Strongid® C 2X™
* Twice-yearly use of QuestPlus or Quest
Beginning April 15th 2009, each horse enrolled or re-
enrolled in the Preventicare Program by its owner will be
charged a nonrefundable, Annual Enrollment fee of $50
per horse.
The following forms of payment are accepted: VISA, MC,
DISCOVER or AMX cards. Payment will only be accepted
on line through the Preventicare website.
On-line payment is to be made by the horse owner at

Because of SmartPak's SmartCare program, if you wish to purchase
Strongid daily wormer through SmartPak, your horse is still eligible
for PreventiCare enrollment through our clinic. Just use our vet code
when ordering. Call the clinic if you have any questions.
Currently enrolled PreventiCare clients, and those
interested in enrollment:
Please be advised to changes in the PreventiCare
program. Owners are now responsible for the
enrollment and re-enrollment of their own horses and
PreventiCare has instituted an annual enrollment fee
of $50. This is payable directly by the client through
the PreventiCare website.
If you are a current client, you have been mailed a
packet by Pfizer informing you of these changes and
providing you with a unique username and
password with which you can log on to the
PreventiCare website.

ADDITIONAL PREVENTICARE PROGRAM
CHANGES, PLEASE READ:
Significant changes have been made to Pfizer's
PreventiCare program. The program as it exists today
will be coming to an end on April 14, 2010. A new
equine wellness program will be launched in its place
during the summer of 2010. As of right now we are
unaware of how that new program will be structured.
If your horse is due to be re-enrolled prior to July 15,
2010, Pfizer is encouraging owners to do so at this
time. All of the terms and conditions of the original
PreventiCare program, including colic assistance, will
be honored for one full year from the horse's re-
enrollment date. Eligible horses (those due to be re-
enrolled prior to July 15) MUST be re-enrolled by April
14, 2010. Remember also that you are required by
Pfizer to pay an annual enrollment fee of $50. This is
done by you through their website. We will keep you
updated as we receive more information on the new
program that Pfizer will be instituting.
